Smart demonstration projects
Under the European Innovation Partnership for Smart Cities and Communities the City of Gothenburg participate in four innovative and concrete demonstration projects. The Smart Cities Partnership is one of the EU’s tools for accelerating the transition of European cities into fossil-free, resource-efficient communities. The European Innovative Partnership Initiative creates a market place for good examples on how to tackle societal challenges regarding energy, mobility and information and communication technology.
CELSIUS is about using wasted heat resources by promoting the development of district heating and cooling in Europe.
STEP UP is about integration of energy planning in the city planning
EU-GUGLE is about energy efficient retrofittning of buildings and at the same time respect the social dimension (segregation).
OPTICITIES is intending to develop and test interoperable ITS, Intelligent Transport Systems solutions in six different cities in order to provide urban citizens with the best possible journey conditions and to optimize urban logistics operations.
