Gothenburg - Climate city Sweden 2015

March 16th the World Wildlife Fund, WWF appointed the City of Gothenburg to the Swedish winner in the WWF's Earth Hour City Challenge.

Gothenburg climate work impresses

The jury think that the Gothenburg's decisions on climate change in both the short and long term is impressive. It signals both responsibility and vision according to the jury. There is a strong correlation between emissions, strategy and operations, which represents a significant potential to turn vision into reality. Furthermore, the jury believes that Gothenburg measures in the transport sector are powerful. The city also paves the way for the calculations of consumption, carbon footprint, something that only a few cities in the world have implemented.
